Which of these two are the real movers?

With a little over two weeks left before the 2018 NFL draft, there’s a lot of speculation about which player the Minnesota Vikings will take in the first round.

One of those two, quarterback Dak Prescott, has a history of being linked to a move to New York.

But there’s one other name on the list: former Oregon offensive lineman Nick Mangold.

So what does this have to do with Mangold?

He’s not even the top pick in the 2018 draft.

The next best player is LSU’s Cam Robinson.

The other is Mississippi State’s Alex Balducci.

Mangold, 31, was drafted by the Vikings with the No. 22 overall pick in 2018.

His only other NFL start came as a backup in 2018, and he didn’t start for the Vikings in 2017.

His draft stock was high at the time, but he’s been a disaster.

In his career, Mangold has been a liability, averaging 4.9 sacks and five quarterback hits per season.

Last season, he was a non-factor.

The NFL has seen him in a variety of ways.

Injuries and suspensions have left him without much protection.

He was benched for the entire 2016 season, after an ugly performance against the Houston Texans.

In 2018, Mangolds knee injury and the Browns’ quarterback struggles hurt his stock even more.

The fact that Mangold is the top candidate to be drafted ahead of Robinson and Balduucci is no surprise.

In fact, the Vikings are likely to pass on the former Oregon star.

But what is surprising is that he is also linked to moving to New Jersey.

As reported earlier this week by NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the NFLPA is planning to file a grievance over Mangold’s lack of playing time in 2018 and 2019.

If Mangold does not get a roster spot by the end of the week, the union is expected to file its own grievance.

If that doesn’t happen, Manglow is expected.

It’s not that Mangolds contract is bad.

It’s that the Vikings should pass on him.

He has a lot to prove as a player.
